Martinsville police investigating vandalism

Vandals hit about 16 cars in Martinsville last weekend, according to a news release from the Martinsville Police Department.

Suspects slashed tires and busted windshields. Police said the vandalism was random and happened in neighborhoods. No injuries were reported. Witnesses saw a red or burgundy sport utility vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Blazer, leaving more than one of the scenes.

If anyone has any information regarding these incidents, contact Lt. Mark Gilbert at (276) 638-8751 or (276) 403-5328. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
