What are the chances?
A reader called early last week to complain that we hadn’t had President Barack Obama’s picture on the front page of the newspaper in a while.
She was right.
Our efforts to push as many local news stories to the front page as possible meant that stories about the president and his work were published on the newspaper’s inside pages. Fortunately for us, the president gave his first State of the Union address last week, giving us a chance to highlight that important speech with a story and picture on A1-Center — prime real estate in a daily newspaper.
I can’t always promise that President Obama’s picture will be printed on page A1, in part because a daily newspaper can’t be all things to all people. But we are committed to getting the news of the day out front — especially when the president is the one making that news.
