Because “ravencottage” wanted to know

If you’ve read our editorials, you know that nearly all of them are about local issues, events and people. That’s by design, not by chance.

But one recent editorial, “Taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay,” (March 19, page A6), tackled a national issue — federal funding of abortions and the health care reform bill passed by the Senate last year. After researching the issue, it appeared clear that the “Senate bill,” as it was called, didn’t use tax dollars to pay for abortions.
