The trouble with going early is that unless there is snow on the ground, it’s almost impossible to know whether the extra effort to finish early was justified. By the time the sun comes up Friday, we’ll know if the Dan River Region has any slick roads — or if we dodged the icicle

The killing of eight people in Appomattox County will dominate the front page of Thursday’s Danville Register & Bee. That was our decision, of course, made because of the seriousness of the crimes and their relative proximity to the Dan River Region
